Facts about sustainability (Part 1)

DID YOU KNOW!

  1. The Brundtland Report of 1987 first defined the term sustainability-  “sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
  2. Recycling one tonne of paper saves 17 trees, produces 25% fewer emissions and saves 2584L of oil, 26498L of water and 2.5 cubic meters of landfill space. We, at Pravaah, avoid the use of any industrially produced paper and opt for alternatives like recycled seed paper and banana paper
  3. The worldwide ban on chlorofluorocarbon and hydrofluorocarbon has enabled the 29 million square kilometres wide “Ozone Hole” to fully heal in the next 55 years.
  4. Germany has the best recycling rate in the world followed by Austria, South Korea and Wales.
  5. The Smog Free Project by Dan Roosegaard removes smog from the air and turns it into jewellery. Follow this link to learn more
